2025-2026 Season Age Definitions  

18 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2007 or are high school students in the twelfth (12th) grade or below during the current academic year and are 19 years of age or younger (born on or after July 1, 2006). 17 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008 16 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009 15 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010 14 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011 13 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2012 

12 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2013 11 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2014 10 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2015 9 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2016

When are Tryouts/Evaluations? 

Evaluations will begin Monday May 5th.  If you want to be considered for a TAV team, your attendance at the Pre-Tryout Evaluation May 5th is highly recommended. 

Tryout date? There is no set tryout date!   

The region has recognized May 5th as the date that clubs can begin to officially evaluate athletes from any club for a position on one of their teams.  Non-binding verbal offers can be made to any athlete on Monday May 19th.  It is our expectation that we will have a good idea of where an athlete stands before the verbal offer date of July 19th.   Therefore, your attendance at the May 5th and 6th Pre-Tryout Clinics is recommended. 

What can you expect? 

Starting the week of May 5th we will begin to evaluate athletes for the ’25-“26 club season.   Verbal offers will be made May 19th.  I would plan to attend every session of the Pre Tryout Clincs for your age group.  If you are unable to attend one of the sessions due to team practice but still want to be considered communication to TAV staff is very important. We will have sessions throughout May and June to fill all roster spots.    

How to make a TAV Team 

Attend May 5th and 6th evaluation sessions to give you the best opportunity 

Register online for evaluation clinics and make sure all information is entered correctly. 

Be present at the 1st assigned evaluation for your age group If you are not going to be there for one of the sessions but still want to be considered communication to TAV staff is very important. 

You received a verbal offer for a spot at TAV on May 19th or later 

Make sure the coach that has verbally offered you a spot knows if you accept or decline the offer.  Be very clear of your intentions to ensure that spot is reserved for you. 

If a verbal offer was accepted, TAV will not retract that offer.  We will honor our commitment to you and ask that you do the same.   Make sure you have coaches contact information and they have yours.  

What happens after you accept a verbal offer? 

Congratulations!  Your coach and the club will be in touch to communicate opportunities to get in the gym up until the official offer and acceptance date of July 8th.  Our goal is to continue to offer opportunities for you to work on growing your game.

The below information is for players that are verbally offered a position on a TAV team during the NTR’s “Evaluation Window” beginning May 6, 2024 through July 16, 2024.
Acceptance (Signing) Day: 
Tuesday, July 16, 2024 for all age groups. Please note this is done online and you do not need to be in town in order to accept.
*There are a few things we need everyone to do prior to the official Acceptance (Signing) Day. The North Texas Region (NTR) of USA Volleyball is the governing body for Club Volleyball in the DFW area. The NTR is using the Online Commitment System (OCS) to help communicate and track offers and acceptance for club teams. The system is important to help enforce the recruiting policies for the families and clubs.

PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE DAY:
Communicate to TAV coaches that you accept the offer and your daughter is 100% in for the team offered.
Make sure the coach that has verbally offered you a spot, knows if you accept the offer.  Be very clear of your intentions to ensure that spot is reserved for you.
If a verbal offer was ACCEPTED, TAV will NOT retract that offer.  We will honor our commitment to you and ask that you do the same.  
Verify you are receiving emails from the OCS server | https://ntr.vstarvolleyball.com/ocs/check_email.php
If you did NOT play in North Texas region of USA Volleyball last year, then you will need to add your daughter to the OCS database | https://ntr.vstarvolleyball.com/ocs/add_player.php
If you played on a NTR club team last year, then your name is already in the database… you do NOT want to create a duplicate record of your daughter.
Your coach will let you know if your daughter is not in the OCS prior to the Acceptance Day.
ON ACCEPTANCE DAY (July 16th, 2024):
You will receive an Offer from the OCS from “No Reply” (offers@ntr.vstarvolleyball.com)
The title of the email will be similar to “Offer from NTR Club”
Click the Link in the email
Accept the Offer
Make the initial deposit/agreement through League Apps (link to agreement will be in offer email).
